Beyond the valve
At paravalves wall mounted Penstocks, also known as Sluice Gates, are made as a welded assembly construction, and usually made for water applications for isolation or flow control services. The seal is done in all four sides of the gate and can work to seal in both directions (bi-directional design) as standard. Penstock design is performed so it can be embedded into concrete during commissioning or wall mounted.
The Penstock design is performed to comply with AWWA standards and can be manufactured in sizes up to 3000x3000mm and pressures up to 10mwc (superior working pressures can be performed on request). A wide range of construction materials is applicable such as different carbon steels and stainless steels like SS304, SS304L, SS316, SS316L and DUPLEX or SUPERDUPLEX austenitic-ferritic stainless steel materials.

In order to ensure the best service, our valves are available with both rising and non-rising spindle configurations. In addition, it is possible to consider designs with spindle extensions and floor stands fully designed to adapt to the civil works of the wall mounted penstock or sluice gate installation.
Bidirecional seal.
Solutions with 3 or 4 side seals with special profile.
The sealing concept developed by the paravalves technical team allows a bi-directional closing and is made on 3 or 4 sides depending on the selected model (FX3 or FX4). In addition, corner joints are avoided by making it in one piece by curving the profile at the upper corners.
Installation types.

The design allows the penstock sluice gate to be configured to suit water applications in channel passage with anchored or embedded in concrete designs. It is also possible to attach wall fixing connectores to use the gate in wall-anchored applications by anchor bolts.
One design to rule them all.
Direct handwheel, Gearbox, Electric actuator, Pneumatic or Hydraulic cylinder actuation types are possible with our Frontgate FX wall penstocks. The design allows actuators to be interchangeable each other even without removing the valve from the pipeline. It most cases, drilled according to ISO 5210 standard.
